Document Camera A
document camera is similar to an overhead projector. Instead of using
a lens to refract light onto the screen it uses a camera to transmit a
video image to a Data Projector. Lights on the side are optimized for
documents and objects. You may project an image of any three dimensional
object onto the screen as instructional content. Your overhead projector
transparancies will work fine with the document camera; if glare is a
problem adjust the side lamps until the glare is minimized.
The basic controls for the Document Camera are located on the front panel of its base, as shown below. Some functions, such as lamp selection and powering on and off, are located on the touch screen, whereas the adjustment controls are located on the front panel:
Simple controls on the base of
the Document Camera adjust Zoom, Focus, and Iris (image brightness). These
controls are shown on the above right image, and are on the right side
of the front panel of the Document Camera. The
camera focal length may be zoomed in to project an area as small as 1.5
by 1.75 inches or zoomed out to show an area of 10 by 12 inches. For optimum
focus zoom all the way in to your object, focus, then zoom out to the
desired frame size.
